Don't I already have something like this? I have a Will and a Trust and my funeral is paid for.
How I Want to be Treated... is not meant to be legal, financial, or final. Those services are already readily available to the public. How I Want to be Treated... is about everyday quality of life, today and for your tomorrows. How many creams or sugars do you like in your coffee (or none)? What type of music do you like to listen to? Are you all about the holidays or bah humbug? Those who know us know how to navigate conversations to topics of interest or topics for debate. This is your opportunity to ensure that whether you can speak up or not, people will know how to treat you right.
But what if it’s too late? The person I care for cannot fully communicate.
It is never too late, as long as there are loved ones willing to speak up and share what they know about the likes and dislikes of the individual. Of course, they will not know answers to every question that is asked, but usually a family can pool their knowledge and share a great deal of beneficial information about the one they love. Isn’t it worth it to know that your Aunt is now comfortably seated watching HGTV to her heart’s content rather than an 8 hour football marathon she would hate?

Will this really make a difference?
The impact of TreatMeWrite is tremendous. It encourages decisiveness, gives clarity of focus, and peace of mind about the future unknown – almost to the point of looking forward to the challenges we may face. For the caregiver it provides invaluable information that will eliminate many frustrations, allow for greater engagement in meaningful activities, and minimize confusion at a time when confusion so often rules.
What do you mean by: Ask Me… How I Want To Be Treated…
I want you to TreatMeWrite – meaning that I will put into writing how I want to be treated, so that you can know how to honor my wishes, giving us the best possible dynamic for working together. Now what about You? Are you ready to stand up and say “TreatMeWrite”?
